FILBOOKFEST is a project
of Literac
Literacy Initiatives International Foundationy Initiatives International Foundation, whose long-term objective
is to put Filipino-authored books, cu
ltural materials and books about the Philippines in public libraries throughout California.








Book Development Association of the Philippines celebrates a quarter
of a century of service to the Philippine
book industry. That there are today,
after a  quarter of a century, 
more and  better books, more
professional book publishers,
and a government more responsive
to the needs of the industry  can in
no small way be the result of

BDAP
's continuous service
to the industry.

Thanks to this service, interest
has grown not only in the industry
but also in the books it has
continued to produce in the last
twenty-five years, a fitting legacy
of the association made up of key
professionals in the book
industry-book publishes, printers,
book designers, writers and designers,
the BDAP is dedicated to the
development of Philippine book
publishing and the promotion of
Filipino books.




Center for Babaylan Studies focuses on Filipino Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices
(IKSP) with specific focus on Babaylan
discourse and Sikolohiyang Pilipino
(Filipino psychology). 

The mission of CfBS is to connect with resources and to facilate the
relevance, cultivation and promotion of
Filipino indigenous wisdom in an age of globalization through:
Exploring and
developing Pakikipagkapwa (deep interconnectivity), 
Kagandahang Loob (Wholeness of Being),
Pakikiramdam (Deep Empathy)
; o
rganizing conferences, workshops,
retreats, concerts and events that
bring about deep appreciation for Filipino Indigenous Spiritua
lity; creating
and maintaining an online archive of
spiritual, social, cultural, historical and other materials relevant to our vision (babaylanfiles.blogspot.com); fostering
learning groups and collaborating
with other organizations who share
our vision; t
o facilitate decolonization
processes rooted in Filipino
Indigenous Spirituality, Wisdom, and Beauty.



Filipino American Arts Exposition is a vital
part of the rich tapestry of cultures
and ethnic communities of the
San Francisco Bay Area through
its promotion of Filipino American
art, music, film and dance.


FAAE celebrates its ancestral heritage
and contemporary
traditions, broadening awareness
and deepening the
understanding of Filipino history,
achievements
and culture. Founded in 1994,
FAAE is agrassroots, nonprofit
organization that contributes to
the artistic and cultural pride
of the Filipino American community
and strives to be a meaningful
community tradition among the
many great ethnic institutions of
San Francisco.



Founded in 1982, the Filipino American National Historical Society is truly
a community-based organization
whose mission is “...to preserve, document,
and present Filipino
American history and to support
scholarly research and artistic
works which reflect that rich past...”
The national office and archives
is housed in Seattle, operating
year-round to lend expertise and
support to twenty-seven
chapters across the United States
and is recognized as the primary informational
resource on Filipino Americans for:
communityorganizations, primary and
secondary schools, colleges, and
universities, local andnational museums
and historical associations,
independent authors,
playwrights, and filmmakers,
teachers, students, and scholars.


Since 1987,
FANHS has sponsored
national conferences (later ratified
as a biennial event) where community
folks of all ages and from all walks
of life gather to share and present
research, network with
other Filipino Americans, and
honor those who have produced
ground-breaking innovative
work in the field of historical research
and analysis. Past projects include
the award-winning video Filipino
Americans Discovering Their Past
for the Future; the
renowned pictorial essay
Filipinos: Forgotten Asian Americans;
and various regional
publications and photo exhibits.




Filipina Women's Network is a private, non-profit
organization founded and operated
to raise funding and awareness of
the activities, careers and status
of women of Philippine
ancestry who are residents of
the United States.


FWN is committed to fostering
the socioeconomic, political
and educational advancement
of Filipina women through cultural heritage
events, career initiatives and professional
development programs.
FWN strives to enhance public
perceptions of Filipina women's
capacities to lead, change biases
against Filipina women's leadership abilities,
and build the Filipina American
community's pipeline of qualified
leaders, to increase the odds
that some will rise to the president
position in all sectors.
FWN achieves these goals through
public education forums to heighten
Filipina women's visibility,
surveys on Filipina women's
issues, leadership and career
development programs for
Filipina women, and influencing
popular culture.



Friends of the San Francisco Public Library is a member-supported
nonprofit organization that
advocates, fundraises,
and provides critical support for
the San Francisco Public Library and
related literary and educational programs.
We provide the community with
opportunities to invest in the success
of the Library as well as literary and
education communities by donating funds
or by donating time through
volunteering. We raise money and
we raise our voices to ensure a
first-class public library for San Francisco.

From our dedicated staff to our committed Board of Directors, from our enthusiastic members to our extraordinary volunteers,
from our generous donor base
to the thousands of people who benefit
from the programs we provide and
support, we are what our name
implies: a collection of committed,
caring individuals who share a common
vision of a superior free public library accessible by all.



National Book Development Board is the leading catalyst that provides
directions and the environment for the stimulation and improvement of the
book publishing industry towards making it world-class and globally competitive.

In order to achieve its vision,
the NBDB shall: (1) increase investment
in the book industry, (2) develop an environment conducive for the growth
of the book publishing industry, and (3) enhance market growth of the book
industry by promoting lifelong learning
through readership.



Philippine American Writers and Artists, Inc. is a Northern California-based nonprofit organization duly registered with
the State of California
and U.S. Federal Government.
Organized under the Nonprofit
Public Benefit Corporation Law
for charitable purposes,

PAWA
’s main goal is to create and
encourage literature and arts
for the preservation and enrichment of
Filipino and Filipino American historical,
cultural and spiritual values.




Philippine Expressions Bookshop is a mail order bookshop dedicated to
Filipino Americans in search of
their roots. In 1984 owner Linda Nietes felt
that Filipino and Filipino American writings needed a home in the U.S., in the
same manner that she provided a home
for writings by Filipinos when she
opened Casalinda Bookshop in
Forbes Park, Makati, Metro Manila
in 1972.

Now on its 27th year of service to the
Fil Am community, it blazed the trail
in promoting Philippine-related
books in North America. The Philippine Expressions Bookshop carries
books in English and Filipino, for all ages!
